After putting India inot bat the Aussies have really done very well
       McGrath and Warne bowled beautifully
Except Tendulkar none of the Indian batsmen living upto the
        expectations of their countrymen

Match State: Innings Break

That brings the iIndian innings to an end. It has been Green & Gold
all the way today. Barring a spell of dazzling batting from Sachin
Tendulkar it has been a dismal showing.
Purists questioned the wisdon of Steve Waugh's decision to put the
opposition in and now they have all been forced to eat humble pie
176 all out and that is not going to be enough under normal
circumstances. Either India have to bowl exceptionally well or
Australia have to bat exceptionally badly for the momentum to
        swing thew Indian way again
Glenn McGrath was as impeccable as ever with 19-13-19-3. Warne
helped himself to 4/47 and it was all over
Apart from Tendulkar none of the batsmen came good. Ganguly was
disappointing, Dravid dismal and Laxman stoic
The tail as ever wagged hard withou getting anywhere. Srinath
showed pluck sticking around for 12 but the others all
        disappointed.
Ajit Agarkar was at his charming best making a delightful duck
against his favourite team - the Aussies

        shaping away, left alone

Thats the end of play on the first day of this series
Australia clearly have the upper hand now
They have laid a very good foundation for their 16th successive
        Test win
India's have performed very much below par on that day
Australia should go to bed happily after winning the toss and
        getting all 10 Indian wickets
They have also made 49/1 in the 16 overs they had towards the end
        of the day
The Indian bolwers did not look too impressive in the short outing
they had at the end of the day
They need to pull up their socks' if they want to make a match out
        of it

Match State: Stumps - Day 1

Australia started the day well after putting the Indians into bat
by claiming 4 wickets in the first session of play
They gave away 62 runs in that process
Then at the end of the second session, India were 153/7
After Tea, Aussies took little time to clean up the tail and they
had to bat for 16 overs
They did it losing Slater in making 49 runs

Thats Lunch on Day 2 of this First Test
India have fought back somewhat in this Test
At the start of the day the Aussies clearly had the upper hand
But The Indian spinners have done the job for India
But the last half hour belonged to the Aussies with Hayden and
Gilchrist holding fort with some wild hitting
That session gave 121 runs and 4 wickets
Yesterday the first session gave 4 wickets to Aussies
Today India have done the same
They would have been even more happier if they had not let
        Gilchrist get fast runs
Hope you are enjoying the LIVE commentary from CricInfo.com

       That ends the Test
Not a very good perfomance from the home team
Australia certainly outplayed the Indians in all depts of the game
Basically it was the one ball that made the difference
The long hop from Mark Waugh which was hit into Langer's shoulders
and ballooned up for Ponting to take a super cacth
Sachin Tendulkar waging a lone battle in both the innings with his
teammates not supporting him at all
Gilchrist took the match aay from India after being 99/5
He came oput and blasted the Indian bowlers all over the park and
        got his ton in style
Australia now have 16 Test wins in a row
Sourav Ganguly booed by the crowd as he explains the defeat
Mentions that Australia took their chances and won, played far
better cricket. Adam Gilchrist played very well
Says "we" should have batted a bit better. There are still 2 more
        to go, he says
The winning captain Waugh has a chat, an outstanding team
performance he says, says the commitment is world class
Says he backed his bowlers & followed his plan very well
Hayden & Gilchrist set up the win. IT could have gone India's way
but they werte two very good innings
Now the man of the match, Cammie Smith the match referee is the
        adjudicator
Mentions that Tendulkar played very well, Hayden & Gilchrist swung
        things Australia's way.
Gilchrist took the bowling by the scruff of the neck + 6 catches
for him in the game, Adam Gilchrist is the man of the match
Gilchrist says that survival was the main thing, he started
        scratchily but then played aggresively
The pitch was a threatining one, the bowlers were bowling well and
we put hte pressure back on them & it came off
The lead up games were a learning curve for us, we learnt our
lessons and took it into the test. Credit to the bowlers, the
        quicks and Warne
Gilchrist now has been in 15 consec test victories
