The light being offered to the batsmen, they take it and walk
briskly back to the pavilion. Thats the close of play on day One.
Two overs were to be bowled in the day. Any ways, this has been
another day in the series where the play had to be extended.
As things stand at close of play on the first day, Zimbabwe are
struggling at 31/3 after having done extremely well to dismiss
India for just 237 in their first innings.
The honours of the day goes to Heath Streak and his boys as well
as to Ashish Nehra who has made a strong comeback by picking all
the wickets to fall so far in the Zimbabwe innings 3/19
Nehra was barred from bowling anymore in the Bulawayo Test after he
was found running through the middle of the pitch on his follow
        through.
This is a remarkable bowling performance by an Indian fast bowler
to pick a wicket each in his first three overs.
Srinath once again did not shine with the ball, bowling too wide
outside the off and not making the batsman to play at the ball.
Earlier, it was all Zimbabwe, bowling a disciplined line and length
with a lot of purpose, which had the Indian batting in all kind of
trouble. Their catching was also exemplary, Blignaut coming up
with three good catches in the slips.
SS Das 57 and Rahul Dravid with an unbeaten on 68 were the only
batsmen to make any significant contribution. Harbhajan provided
an entertaining 31 off just 42 balls.
Streak was the best of the Zimbabwe bowling with 3/69.
Thats all we have for you from Harare for the day. We will be back
