Bangladesh v Australia, 2005-06

Bangladesh v Australia, 2005-06

Nabila Ahmed
15-Apr-2007
At Fatullah, April 26, 2006. Australia won by 67 runs. Toss: Australia.
After being relegated to drinks duties in the Tests and failing to score in the previous game, Symonds set up Australia's series victory with an unusually subdued performance - the only one of his five one-day centuries scored at less than a run a ball. He described it as a "working-class" innings, agreeing that he had only recently developed the maturity it required. Lee and Bracken followed up by removing three Bangladeshi batsmen in four overs. Habibul Bashar shared facesaving stands with Javed Omar and Khaled Mashud, though he was reprieved on 50 by third umpire Nadir Shah when television replays indicated that Cullen, at full stretch, had dislodged his bails as he returned for a second run. But once Clarke broke through, the last six fell for a disappointing 37.
Man of the Match: A. Symonds.
