Bangladesh won this clash of the Twenty20 newcomers, with Mashrafe bin Mortaza's late burst propelling them to a score that Zimbabwe never looked like reaching once the fourth-wicket stand of 54 between Masakadza and Williams was broken, and they slipped from 104-4 to 111-8.
†At Khulna, November 30, 2006. First one-day international: Bangladesh won by nine wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe 184-9 (50 overs) (B. R. M. Taylor 38, E. Zimbabwe struggled against Bangladesh's trio of left-arm spinners, who took eight of the nine wickets between them. Then Shahriar Nafees took his side home with his third century in successive matches against Zimbabwe: only three other hundreds had been scored for Bangladesh in oneday internationals.
†At Bogra, December 3, 2006 (day/night). Second one-day international: Bangladesh won by six wickets. Toss: Bangladesh. Zimbabwe 217-7 (50 overs) (C. J. Chibhabha 31, H. Masakadza 41, S. C. †At Bogra, December 5, 2006 (day/night). Third one-day international: Bangladesh won by 26 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe. Bangladesh clinched the series with their third successive win, but for a time Zimbabwe looked the more likely victors: they reached 181-5 in the 46th over, with Williams improving his one-day career-best again, but lost their last five wickets for 13 runs. Slow left-armer Abdur Razzak returned his best one-day figures.

Mawoyo (Zimbabwe). Another disappointing batting performance by Zimbabwe, and another comfortable victory for Bangladesh, who cruised home with 106 balls to spare.
